Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech – Agdz – Dra’a Valley – Zagora

Embark on an exhilarating journey to the Zagora desert with a morning departure from Marrakech, crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains through the renowned Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest peak in Africa. Take a moment to savour the breathtaking scenery as you pause for a scenic break atop the mountains, capturing panoramic views of lush valleys and Berber villages gracing the mountain slopes.

As we descend from the pass, the route leads us to Ouarzazate, where a delightful lunch awaits. Crossing another pass, Tizi-n-Tinfifite, we venture into the enchanting Dra’a Valley, taking a refreshing tea break at the charming Agdz. Embark on an off-road walk along the historic Caravans Road in the Dra’a Valley, offering awe-inspiring views of the winding river, verdant oasis, ancient kasbahs, and majestic mountains.

Upon reaching Zagora, a captivating stop at the Nakhla Dunes. Here, indulge in a mesmerising desert walk and relish the beauty of the sunset from atop a dune while partaking in a camel ride lasting one to two hours. The day concludes with a delightful dinner at the desert camp in the Zagora Desert, where you will spend a magical night under the star-lit desert sky.

Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

For those early risers, witness the enchanting sunrise casting captivating shadows across the vast orange dunes, providing a moment of serene tranquillity. Following a hearty breakfast, the journey unfolds as we make our way back to Ouarzazate.

After a leisurely tea break, our adventure leads us to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This famous kasbah, featured in Hollywood blockbusters like Gladiator, Alexander, and segments of Game of Thrones, holds historical significance as a trade station for Sub-Saharan commerce dealing in gold, slaves, and salt.

Continuing along the picturesque Thousand Kasbah Road, we arrive at the Kasbah Telouet, once a regal residence for the Lord of the Atlas and his family, El Glaoui. After lunch, our return drive to Marrakech takes us through charming Berber villages nestled along rivers, bordered by the Atlas Mountains adorned with roses, olive trees, and grazing goats.

The captivating Zagora desert tour concludes as we reach Marrakech by late afternoon, leaving you with cherished memories of a remarkable Moroccan adventure.
