4 Day Tour from Marrakech to Fes: Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
To begin with, your driver picks you up at your hotel in Marrakech at about 8:30. Then you cross the High Atlas on the Tizi n’Tichka pass, at about 2,260 m. After that, you take the side road to the Glaoui kasbah of Telouet.
Later, you visit the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, where many films were shot. Finally, you reach Ouarzazate and sleep in a riad.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Valley of Roses – Dades Gorge
In the morning, you visit the Skoura oasis and Kasbah Amridil. Then you follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Valley of Roses, where small shops sell rose water. In the afternoon, you also walk along the river in the Dades gorge, before your night in a hotel in the gorge.
Day 3: Dades – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
After breakfast, you drive to the Todra gorge and walk between its high cliffs. Then you continue past Erfoud, where you can also visit a fossil workshop. In the late afternoon, you reach Merzouga and ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset. In the evening, you enjoy dinner and Berber drums at the camp.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fes
Early in the morning, you watch the sunrise from a dune, then ride back for breakfast. Then you drive north through Rissani and the long palm groves of the Ziz Valley. Later, you cross the Middle Atlas, with a stop in the cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary macaques live, and in Ifrane. As a result, you reach your hotel in Fes in the evening.
