6 Day Tour from Agadir: Itinerary
Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Taliouine – Foum Zguid
To begin with, your driver picks you up at your hotel in Agadir at about 8:30. Then you visit Taroudant, often called the little Marrakech, with its earthen walls and medina.
After that, you reach Taliouine, the saffron capital of Morocco, and learn how saffron is grown. Later, you pass Taznakht, a town known for its Berber carpets. Finally, you reach Foum Zguid at the edge of the Sahara for dinner and the night.
Day 2: Foum Zguid – Lake Iriqui – Erg Chigaga
Then, after breakfast, your 4×4 leaves the road and crosses Lake Iriqui, a dry lake bed once fed by the Draa River. On the way, you also see stony plains and the first sand dunes.
At Erg Chigaga, you ride a camel at sunset over the golden dunes. Finally, you share dinner at your desert camp, in a private tent with its own bathroom.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga – M’Hamid – Zagora – Agdz
Then, after breakfast, you drive to M’Hamid, the last village before the Sahara. There you also visit an earthen home and learn about desert life.
Then you follow the Draa Valley, with its palm groves and kasbahs, to Zagora. Finally, you continue to Agdz and spend the night in a traditional guesthouse.
Day 4: Agdz – Tamnougalt – N’Kob – Saghro – Dades Valley
Then, after breakfast, you visit Kasbah Tamnougalt, one of the oldest kasbahs of the Draa Valley. Later, you stop for lunch in N’Kob, a village of earthen kasbahs.
After that, you cross the Saghro mountains by the Tizi n’Tazazert pass, near the rock towers of Bab n’Ali. In fact, the Ait Atta people of Saghro resisted the French army here in 1933. Finally, you reach the Dades Valley for the night.
Day 5: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate
After a short walk in the Dades gorge, you drive to the Valley of Roses, known for its rose festival in May. Then you visit Kasbah Amridil in the Skoura oasis, which once appeared on the old 50-dirham note.
Finally, you spend the night in a riad or guesthouse in Ouarzazate.
Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou – Taznakht – Taliouine – Agadir
Then, after breakfast, you visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Soon you drive back south-west through Taznakht and Taliouine.
Later, you follow the Souss Valley and its argan trees. Finally, you reach Agadir in the late afternoon, and your driver drops you at your hotel.

Day 4 crosses the Saghro mountains, so ask your driver to stop at the Bab n’Ali viewpoint for the best photos of the trip. In addition, bring a warm layer, because the camp and the mountains are cold in winter. Finally, the Valley of Roses is at its best in May, during the rose harvest.
