6 Days Agadir Tour to Erg Chegaga Dunes – Itinerary

Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Tilouine – Foum Zguid

The 6 Days Agadir Tour Guide  starts at 8:30 AM with an Agadir departure for a journey across 4WD vehicles toward Taroudant which locals call “the little Marrakech.” People should journey to Tilouine which functions as Morocco’s main saffron cultivation area while stopping first to discover Taroudant’s city walls and medina vitality. The attraction provides a compelling exhibition about saffron cultivation in addition to a rich display of saffron plant information. We will drive from Taznakht passing through Tizi-n-Tighatine and Tizi-n-Ikhsane until we reach Taznakht which is known for its Berber carpets and rugs. Our travel through rocky desert terrains leads us toward Sahara’s border until we arrive at Foum Zguid where you will stay for the night following a satisfying lunch.

Day 2: Foum Zguid – Chegaga Dunes

Our expedition began following a substantial morning meal as we traveled to see the amazing Erg Chegaga dunes. We travel across Iriqui Lake’s dried-out area which was previously supplied by the Dra’a River to become this stunning desert wasteland. You will get to conduct fossil explorations when we move into the desert section of the dried lake bed. Several types of desert landscapes welcome visitors as they travel along the path which shows rocky stony plains and expansive stretches of sand. At the dunes you will experience a camel ride that lets you see the magnificent desert sunset while exploring the golden sand dunes. The luxury desert camp offers private tents equipped with king-sized beds and private bathrooms as you consume your dinner arrangements.

Day 3: Chegaga Dunes – Agdez

On the third day after breakfast in the desert camp our journey leads to M’hamid passing through the Sacred Oasis. The oasis functions as the first watering spot outside of Sahara desert borders and demonstrates survival capabilities in this mining landscape. During our visit to M’hamid we study the M’hamid adobe architecture before entering a house that belongs to the Abdelhadi family. Next we move ahead while touring the Dra’a Valley with its well-known palm grove forest and kasbah perspectives. Zagora represents the largest oasis in the valley so after touring this area we continue to Agdez to spend the night in a traditional guest house.

Day 4: Agdez – Dades Gorges

We begin our morning by visiting Kasbah Tamnougalt though it is recognized as one of the oldest and most distinctive kasbahs located in the Dra’a Valley. From N’qob we begin our drive through the Saghro Mountains. Before the journey we have lunch in the traditional food of N’qob. The Tizi-n-Tazzazert Pass represents a legendary mountain pass featuring remarkable peaks while presenting the famous Bab-n-Ali twin towers as its main attractions. These local people who successfully stood against the French occupation have settled in this area. Dades Valley becomes our destination for overnight stay.

Day 5: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate

Day 5 follows the tour of Dades Gorges with another tour into the gorge for short walking and the chance to witness exceptional natural sights. Our route departs the main road to access the Rose Valley which holds its well-known Rose Festival on a yearly basis. We travel to the Skoura Oasis following our visit to see the ancient Kasbah Amredhil which previously appeared on the 50 dirham note of Morocco. Your journey leads to Ouarzazate where you will rest the night in a spacious riad or guest house accommodation.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Agadir

The tour ends at Aït Ben Haddou which stands as one of Morocco’s most renowned UNESCO World Heritage sites. Moving forward from the kasbah exploration we cross the film set for “The Hills Have Eyes” before reaching the new Tiouine reservoir. We stop at Taznakht as well as Taliouine to enjoy our meals on our way back to Agadir. As you travel you will see the scenic Souss River together with numerous argan trees lining your path. Our arrival time in Agadir during late afternoon marks both the endpoint of your six-day Moroccan travel experience.
