3 Day Marrakech Tour: Itinerary
Day 1: Guided Tour of the Marrakech Medina
To begin with, your guide meets you at your hotel or riad in the morning. Then you visit the Koutoubia Mosque, whose minaret rises about 77 metres above the old city. After that, you walk through the painted rooms and gardens of Bahia Palace.
Later, you see the Saadian Tombs, built for the family of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the 16th century. Meanwhile, your guide leads you through the souks, full of spices, leather and lamps. In the afternoon, you can also walk in the blue Majorelle Garden.
Finally, you end the day on Jemaa el-Fna square, with its storytellers, musicians and food stalls.
Day 2: Atlas Villages and the Agafay Desert
After breakfast, your driver takes you out of the city towards the Atlas foothills. On the way, you also stop in a Berber village to share mint tea with a local family. Then you take a short walk with views over the valleys.
Then, after lunch, you reach the Agafay desert, about 40 km from Marrakech. In fact, it is a stony desert of bare hills, with the snowy Atlas behind it in winter. If you like, you can also ride a camel or try a quad bike.
Later, you watch the sunset over the hills. Finally, your driver brings you back to Marrakech for the night.
Day 3: Hot Air Balloon Ride at Sunrise
To begin with, a driver picks you up before dawn for the balloon flight. Then you rise over the countryside as the sun lights the Atlas Mountains. After landing, you also share a breakfast with the balloon team.
Later, you return to Marrakech for a free afternoon. For example, you can shop in the souks or relax in a hammam. Finally, the tour ends at your hotel.
