Atlas Mountains Trek 2 Days: Imlil, Berber Villages & a Night in the Mountains
Why Choose This Atlas Mountains Trek 2 Days
This Atlas Mountains trek 2 days is the perfect first trek in Morocco. To begin with, you walk from Imlil over the Tizi n’Tamatert pass, at about 2,280 m. Then you reach the village of Tacheddirt and sleep in a Berber guesthouse, before walking back to Imlil on the second day.
Throughout the trek, a local guide leads the way, while a mule carries your bag. As a result, you only carry a daypack. In fact, the walk is moderate, so it suits most active travellers and older children.
However, if you want to climb a summit, see our Toubkal trek 3 days. Also read our guide to day hikes near Marrakech.

Expert tip from our mountain guides
Wear broken-in walking shoes, because the paths are rocky. In addition, bring a warm layer, since mountain nights are cold even in summer. Also, in winter the pass can be snowy, so we adapt the route.
